Privacy Policy

Inspectionly (“we,” “us”) provides home inspection services across Ontario. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s federal privacy law.

What we collect — exactly

When you book an inspection, our booking form collects:

• your first and last name, email address, and phone number;
• the property address, property type, approximate square footage, and year built;
• the inspection type, any add-ons, your preferred date and time, the quoted total, and your role in the transaction (buyer, seller, or agent for one of them);
• any notes you choose to add.

When you send an inquiry (for example requesting a call or a checklist), we collect your email address and/or phone number, the city or page your inquiry came from, and what you asked about.

When you use the address search on our homepage, the address or postal code you type is sent to Google’s Places service to power the suggestions list.

The contact form on our “Let’s Talk” page opens your own email program — it submits nothing to our servers.

We do not collect payment card details through this website.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.
• We don’t run advertising trackers or social-media pixels.
• We don’t send marketing email unless you’ve asked for it, and every such email includes a working unsubscribe link, as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Why we collect it

To schedule and perform your inspection; prepare and deliver your report; confirm, change, or cancel appointments; respond to inquiries; and keep the business records we’re required to keep. If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose, we’ll ask you first.

Consent

By submitting a booking or inquiry, you consent to these uses. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (subject to legal and professional limits — for example, records of a completed inspection that we must retain).

Where your information is stored — including outside Canada

Your booking information is stored in databases operated by our service providers Neon and SiteGround, and our confirmation emails are delivered by Resend. Our website is hosted by Vercel, which also provides us cookieless, aggregate visit analytics. The address-autocomplete feature is provided by Google.

Some of these providers — including Neon, our primary booking database — store data on servers located in the United States. While your information is stored there, it is subject to United States law, including lawful-access requests by U.S. authorities. PIPEDA permits this kind of transfer provided the information remains protected; we use providers with strong security practices and limit what they may do with your data to processing on our instructions. Cookies

One cookie total, and it’s not for you: an administrative login cookie used only by our own staff on our internal dashboard. Visitors are not tracked with cookies. Our analytics are cookieless and don’t identify individuals.

How long we keep it

• Booking and inspection records: retained for 7 years after the inspection, consistent with Canadian business-record and professional-insurance requirements, then deleted or anonymized.
• Inquiries that don’t become bookings: deleted within 24 months of last contact.

Safeguards

Encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout the site; database access limited to those who need it; credentials stored in secured configuration, not in code; administrative areas gated behind authentication.

Your rights — access, correction, deletion

Email hello@inspectionly.ca with the subject line “Privacy request”, or call (437) 879-4520, to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct it;
• ask us to delete it (we’ll do so except where a law or our professional obligations require us to keep it, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case).

We respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca, 1-800-282-1376).

Children

Our services are for adults in property transactions. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

Updates will be posted here with a new effective date; material changes will be highlighted.
